Yes, it has been a long time since my last post. I know some of you thought I would never come back. You wondered where you would be able to turn for deep insights into the world of accounting, and into life itself.
Well, I am back and I am sorry that I was away for so long. So much has happened since I last blogged. I started my new job, which has kept me busy. Which is probably why I haven't blogged in awhile. I found when you work for a firm that continues to grow and retain clients, you have less time to sit and think about blogging. I guess that is good career wise, but bad for you blog followers. Sorry but I have to think about myself on this one, trust me, I tried being unemployed (no, not on purpose) but it didn't work out so well. It turns out, most of the people you owe money to, actually want their money, they don't care if you don't have a job.
I know many of you are wondering who I am boycotting and there has been a change. I am not sure if I already mentioned Mythbusters, but they are on the list. I won't get into too much why other than to say that I found one episode to be lacking in objectivity. I have also added Quizno's to the list. Although I enjoy their toasted subs as much as the next guy, I found their commercials to be slightly disturbing. I mean a stove talking to another man in a sexy voice and then another commercial with two rednecks in a bathtub together. I know I may be a little conservative but it is what it is.
I found another thing that really bothers me but I am unable to boycott fully is any sporting event with a celebrity in the crowd. Why do the networks feel the need to tell us which celebrities are there. And how many times do they have to show them on TV. Yes we know Eva Longoria is at the Spurs games. We know Spike Lee is courtside at the Knicks. We know Jack and 500 other celebrities are at the Lakers games. We don't need to see them, we don't need to know who is there, we just want to see the game. If we wanted to know what the celebrities were doing, we would watch Entertainment Tonight or something. I was listening to the Dodgers-Phillies game the other day at work. I was in the office, it was a day game, I streamed it on my computer and tuned into the Phillies broadcast because yes, I am a Dodger hater. If I had a dollar for the number of times the announcers told us that Kobe Bryant was in the crowd, I would almost be as rich as Kobe. Then instead of saying a ball was fouled back, they would say it was fouled back close to Larry King. If I was sitting back there would they say the ball was popped back close to Jeff Patterson's seat? I don't think so.
Well enough about boycotts and annoying things. It's good to be back. I was inspired by last weeks episode of the Office and thought that perhaps I might write a book on business management as well. So look for me blogging some ideas and perhaps some chapter pieces. I promise my loyal bloggers an autograph copy. (You would have to buy it, I would just sign it.)
Hopefully it won't be another six weeks before my next post. Let's keep it real and stay cool Arizona. Peace out.
